In May 2001, Jay F. Stocker and Michael J. Lancaster formed Stocker & Lancaster, LLP, to continue and expand their diversified litigation and transactional practice. Mr. Stocker continues his focus primarily in providing excellent personal representation in the fields of business, construction, and real property.

Mr. Stocker has actively and vigorously represented the interests of businesses in many different sectors and on a variety of legal issues. Mr. Stocker's practice has continued to represent the interests of construction developers, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, architects, engineers, and sureties, involving issues concerning real estate development, construction, construction defect, and contract formation and disputes. Mr. Stocker has also been active in litigating disputes involving most aspects of business, including labor disputes, claims of discrimination and harassment, FEHA and other statutory and regulatory violations, and trade secret and unfair competition. Mr. Stocker has also engaged in transactional and litigation work in the real estate industry (both commercial and residential). Other areas of Mr. Stocker's practice include representing clients both as plaintiffs and defendants in major tort litigation including personal injury and insurance litigation. Mr. Stocker also continues to provide personal representation in counseling businesses (sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies) involving all aspects from formation, ongoing compliance issues, genera) counseling, and dispute resolution. Mr. Stocker has represented hundreds of clients successfully through the conclusion of their disputes, including jury and bench trials, binding arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings, such as mediations and formal settlement conferences.

Prior to forming Stocker & Lancaster, LLP: In December 1997, Mr. Stocker formed the Law Offices of Jay F. Stocker (incorporated in February 2000 as a professional corporation), concentrating in the same areas of practice that Mr. Stocker has continued into his current practice. From June 1994 through November 1997, Mr. Stocker affiliated with Cummins & White, LLP in an of counsel relationship. Mr. Stocker continued to expand his practice, integrating with the Cummins & White firm. From June 1991 through May 1994, Mr. Stocker affiliated with Haight, Brown & Bonesteel in an of counsel relationship. From the time he was admitted to practice in 1987 through June 1991, Mr. Stocker affiliated with the law firm Voss & George.
